Workshop "S.O.S. Cagarro - Cory's shearwaters"
"S.O.S. Cagarro"
or
Save the Cory's Shearwaters
The Portuguese team presented the impact of light pollution on the environment, particularly on the Cory's Shearwater in the Azores. Several videos were shown about the Cory's Shearwater, its protection, and how we should handle and release the birds.
Presented by the students of the Escola Básica Integrada de Angra do Heroísmo, who exposed the effects of light pollution on the Cory’s Shearwater and introduced the "SOS Cagarro" campaign in the Azores. In groups with participants from all the involved countries, informational brochures were created to be delivered to the Regional Directorate for Maritime Policies, which, in collaboration with the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change and the Natural Parks Services, promotes the "SOS Cagarro" campaign.
