Copyright-SID 2023(1st activity)
Do we have the right to use any creation found on the web?
What is copyright?
Our pupils need to be aware of copyright and respect it while they work on their activities using a variety of resources.
This is the lesson plan for all our classes:
a) The pupils watch the video that Ilion's team has created (using a script created collaboratively and an AI tool -app.fliki.ai- that in video editor text is converted into speech
b) Each one of our pupils plays the following quiz https://copyrightschool.gr/games/game2/en
c) Each pupil adds on the following jam board at least one fact that he/she has discovered while playing the quiz
https://jamboard.google.com/d/1GiKbMnPqpo9Ay9TT5uKDnZG16wCMRUGJw2d8gcYxnyo/edit?usp=sharing
d) In plenary the pupils are guided by the teacher to
discuss the different rights that are offered to the users under the creative commons licenses (following image)
they use the filter of usage rights (Tools/Usage rights/creative commons) in the google search to check the license of an image for a concept eg "education"

e) the pupils join the forum (discussion of this page) https://school-education.ec.europa.eu/en/node/458246 and add their answer to the discussion's question
The teachers upload into this page reports (photos, videos, etc) of their classes while working on this activity

Creative Commons Licence
(a short discussion on the infographic in plenary/the source is available in many languages. The infographic is available as pdf in materials and teachers can print it and post it at school)
CC is an international nonprofit organization that empowers people to grow and sustain the thriving commons of shared knowledge and culture we need to address the world’s most pressing challenges and create a brighter future for all.
This global community with multiple partners build capacity and infrastructure, develops practical solutions, and advocates for better sharing: sharing that is contextual, inclusive, just, equitable, reciprocal, and sustainable.
The Creative Commons copyright licenses and tools forge a balance inside the traditional “all rights reserved” setting that copyright law creates.
