This course includes:

  • an introduction to the Irish Education System
  • visits to Irish schools with observation of lessons and discussions with principals and teachers on features of Irish schools such as Transition Year, how Ireland achieves outstanding rankings in PISA, school development strategies and quality evaluation and enhancement.
  • Workshops on innovative educational ideas and project-based learning

Learning objectives

The course aims to provide teachers with:

  • an insight into Primary and Secondary School Education in Ireland focussing on School Leadership, School Development, Innovation and Quality Evaluation
  • a variety of innovative approaches to teaching and learning in Primary & Secondary schools 
  • opportunities to exchange ideas and develop links with educators from other European countries

Methodology & assessment

Courses are delivered by school principals and education professionals with many years’ experience of teaching and training EU-funded teachers and a wealth of inspiring ideas to impart

At the end of the course educators participate in a detailed evaluation of the course

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Participants will be provided with physical and digital materials.

Certification details

  • A certificate of attendance (stating course title, location, dates, content, learning outcomes and number of hours) will be provided as required by the Quality standards for courses under Key Action 1
  • Erasmus+ documentation will be validated
  • Teachers will be provided with advice on how to complete their Learning Agreements if requested

    • 1,447 Euro – Course with 7 nights full board host family accommodation (Single rooms. All meals provided)
    • 1,479 Euro - Course with 7 nights self-catering accommodation in central university residence (single ensuite rooms)

    Description of the services and activities included in the course package (such as accommodation, meals, transport) or available at extra cost.
  • Cancellation & changes:

    Full payment will be due 2 months before the course begins, or for teachers awaiting funding: as soon as the grant is received.

     

    100% refund for cancellations more than 5 weeks before arrival. No refund for cancellations within 5 weeks of arrival. Changes and substitution of teacher may be possible.

  • Additional information:
    The options and conditions for change and cancellation, and the policy in case of unforeseen circumstances (force majeure).
