3. Discover Europe through Robots_Romania
Erasmus + transnational learning activity at the Gymnasium School “ Duiliu Zamfirescu ” Focşani
The Erasmus + KA229 project „ CO-Develop E + Generations ” reached its third activity with the theme “ Discover Europa with Robots ”, which took place at the Gymnasium School „ Duiliu Zamfirescu ” from Focşani. The project was approved in the 2020 selection round and was extended until 31.08.2023.
This activity was attended by crews of teachers and students from schools: “ Heroj Radmila Siskovic ” from Serbia, „ Suadiye Barbaros Ilkokulu ” from Turkey, “ Kauno Panemunes pradine mokykla ” from Lithuania and “ Isis Gramsci Keynes ” from Italy.
The general objective of the project is to develop and exchange good practices and innovative educational methods in the use of coding and new technologies at school, among students aged between 10 and 15 years.
Participants developed their digital skills by understanding and using digital tools such as Powtoon, Kahoot, Cody Roby / Cody Way. Online coding activities have been performed. The focal point of mobility: developing a fast track through Europe, scheduling robots to go through every UNESCO Heritage Site in every country. A map of Europe was made that Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots used as a rug. Robots were programmed to stop at every site described in their presentations.
The Romanian students were noticed and appreciated by the teachers invited for seriousness, English language skills and involvement in all activities carried out.
The cultural program offered participants the chance to know aspects related to the specifics of Romanian culture – visited the city of Focşani, attended a show of modern and popular songs and dances, visited the fortified church Prejmer located in UNESCO patrimony, the city of Brasov and the medieval fortress Bran.

Critical thinking, teamwork, awareness of European cultural diversity, establishing friendly relations between students from the participating states are values that make Erasmus + projects a united and strong Europe ” said Professor Dănilă Nicolae, project coordinator.
