Abstract
Empathy Turtles was oriented to building Soft Skills of those involved
and especially the "Holistic development of empathy" (Kalliopuska, 1972),
combined with Sustainable Goals for better living for ourselves, animals
and the environment. We focused on the Emotional, Cognitive and Kinesthetic
components of empathy using robots, Artificial Intelligence, MicroBits and web2 tools.
The project was divided in three parts:
Empathy for Me,
For you,
For Nature.
So, in the first phase, our goal was to recognize and manage emotions,
while in the second phase, we aimed to developing empathy as we understand it
(get in others' shoes and discover ways to help them.)
Finally, in the third phase of the project, we designed activities for
environmental empathy, where the students, through experiential actions,
developed a positive attitude towards animals and the environment and
