PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In this project, the different educational centers with ages from sixteen years old will carry out various cooperative activities in which students become aware, first of all, of the dangers of networks, then we will remember that they can socialize without networks and, finally, they will learn to make good use of technologies.

Thanks to this project, students will reflect on the misuse of technology and the problems that these entail, they will learn to use technology and English correctly. This reflection will not only reach our students, but through our dissemination, we will involve families and friends from different parts of Europe.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

This project has objectives in different areas, since it works on ICT, collaboration and the English language at the same time.

The educational objectives are:

  1. Objectives related to European identity:

Create new links with the educational community of other centers and different countries, improving the educational quality of the centers.

Train our students in European values and attitudes such as tolerance and mutual respect.

  1. Objectives related to the English language:

      Learn about new digital tools.

Collaborate as a team with students and teachers from other centers through technology.

Introduce students to the eTwinning digital platform.

Learn how to use new technologies properly.

Know the dangers of social networks.

WORK PROCESS

Methodological line:The methodology that we are going to use is Project-Based Learning (PBL), which is based on cooperation between the different centers. Thanks to this methodology we will promote:

Collaboration:In this project, the teaching staff needs maximum collaboration and the students will also collaborate to carry out each of the activities.

Communication:Communication will also be a fundamental key in this project, since the teaching staff must know the project and each of the activities perfectly. For this, communication is essential. The infant students will also learn about the projects of the other centers and their protagonists. Something very important and to keep in mind is that the communication of this project will be done in English, which implies an extra effort on the part of the teaching staff.

Critical thinking:At the end of the project, a final evaluation of both their own work and that of the other centers is requested.

New technologies: Thanks to this project, both students and teachers will use new technologies, both in carrying out the project and in its publication and for communication.

Coordination between teachers: Communication between the partner faculty must be constant. For this we will use different tools such as Google Docs, email and if necessary Whatsapp. Media such as Flock or Whaller can be used, and other programs such as Padlet, Linoit, Mindmomo and whatever they need for each activity.

Before starting the project, the parents or legal guardians of the underage students will be informed of it, either via email or in a virtual meeting, to explain what eTwinning consists of and the great opportunity that being able to work represents. with friends from other countries.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

The students are the main protagonist of this project and their collaboration with both the teaching team and each other is a priority.

They will be divided into mixed groups in order to meet colleagues from other European countries and make the use of English a reality as a communication tool.

Students will have their own access to eTwinning through a password, so they can cooperate at all times, use the forums to reach agreements, vote, etc.

In addition, the planned use of eTwinning meetings will help make participation more palpable and more real, since the classmates will be able to get to know each other.

COMMON PRODUCTS AND RESULTS:

All our activities have the common objective of working on the dangers of social networks, cultural exchange between students and cooperation, since they are tasks to be carried out by everyone and that would not be possible without everyone's participation.

It is expected that both teachers and students have the opportunity to reflect on the dangers of social networks and obtain the necessary tools to use them correctly, as well as various digital tools with which to create content through the different activities that we have proposed.

Likewise, when the project is carried out using English as the vehicular language, it will be practiced orally, in addition to specifically working on certain grammatical and vocabulary points.

As a result, we hope that students become aware of how social networks work. Thanks to these activities and your reflections, we hope to make visible a reality about which much remains to be discovered.

We have related this project to the English language because we expect as a result, not only an improvement in its practice, but also that students verify the usefulness of expressing themselves in this language, verifying for themselves that, effectively, they can know and talk to other people using this language.

Likewise, thanks to learning in projects, we also hope that they value group work, value the opinion of others and learn to cooperate.
