This course provides a comprehensive exploration of thinking skills, including critical, creative, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Teachers will learn practical methods for explicitly teaching these skills and incorporating them into their teaching.

Participants will engage in both theoretical discussions and practical activities to ensure they leave with actionable strategies. The course emphasises real-world applications to ensure that teachers can confidently implement these skills in a variety of educational settings. A supportive online community will be available for continued collaboration and resource sharing after the course.

Learning objectives

To identify and differentiate between various types of thinking skills, including critical, creative, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
To design and implement lesson plans that explicitly integrate thinking skills into the curriculum.
To apply analytical thinking skills to evaluate patterns, sequences, and relationships in real-life and educational contexts.
To foster creativity in students using structured models and diverse mediums such as art, drama, and collaborative activities.
To develop decision-making and problem-solving skills in students by utilizing evidence-based methods and engaging classroom activities.

Methodology
1. Collaborative Workshops: Participants co-design and refine lesson plans, engage in brainstorming, and practice techniques in small groups.
2. Problem-Based Learning (PBL): Teachers solve real-world challenges related to integrating thinking skills into their lessons.
3. Micro-Teaching: Participants deliver short lessons, followed by immediate peer and expert feedback.
4. Case Studies: Analysis and adaptation of successful examples of thinking skills integration.
5. Hands-On Resource Creation: Development of teaching aids and assessment tools tailored to individual needs.
6. Reflective Practice: Daily reflections to assess learning and plan classroom implementation.

2. Micro-Teaching: Demonstration of thinking skills techniques in practice.

Certification details

The course is aligned with the Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Quality Standards. In order to obtain certification, participants are required to meet the attendance requirements, actively engage in the sessions, and complete a final project.
