Description

This course equips teachers with the skills to design and deliver powerful digital stories using various multimedia elements such as images, photography, videos, sound, and animation. Participants will explore narrative structures, visual literacy, and storytelling techniques, while learning to apply digital tools to create compelling educational content. Through hands-on practice and collaborative activities, educators will learn how to make learning more personal, inclusive, and impactful for their students.

Learning objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to understand and apply the principles of digital storytelling and visual communication in educational settings. They will be able to design engaging visual narratives using digital tools, enhance student expression and creativity through storytelling, and integrate storytelling techniques across subjects and age groups. The course also aims to strengthen teachers’ capacity to foster emotional literacy, intercultural understanding, and student voice using digital narratives.

Methodology & assessment

The course follows an interactive and project-based approach, combining creative workshops, peer feedback, and guided exploration of tools and techniques. Participants will work individually and in teams to create their own digital stories, drawing on real classroom contexts. Assessment will be based on active participation, a completed digital storytelling project, and a reflective summary demonstrating how they plan to integrate storytelling into their teaching practice.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

Educators will have access to a wide range of resources including video examples, storytelling templates, and visual design guides. Tools such as Book Creator, Canva, Adobe Spark, StoryJumper, and simple video editing platforms will be introduced and practiced. Additional materials include storyboard sheets, image banks, sound libraries, and best-practice examples from classrooms across Europe.

Certification details

Participants will receive a detailed Certificate of Attendance including their full name,names of the sender and host organisations, instructor name/names,course title, dates, total hour of instruction and location. The certificate will also feature a brief description highlighting the key topics covered during the course.
