Description

From Museums to Classrooms: Creative Cultural Learning is a practical and innovative course that explores how museums and cultural institutions can enhance classroom education through creative, hands-on learning experiences. Participants will explore how to use museum exhibits, artifacts, and interactive resources to design lessons that inspire curiosity, build critical thinking skills, and promote cultural literacy. The course emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, combining history, art, science, and literature with museum resources to create dynamic educational experiences. Teachers will learn to adapt museum visits, virtual tours, and creative projects to engage students of all ages and abilities, while promoting inclusivity and cultural awareness. By the end of the course, educators will be equipped with creative methods for integrating museum-based learning into their classrooms, helping students connect with cultural heritage and history in meaningful ways.

Methodology & assessment

The course adopts a hands-on, experiential learning methodology, with participants engaging in interactive workshops, museum visits (physical or virtual), and collaborative group projects. Through these activities, educators will explore how to creatively incorporate museum exhibits, artifacts, and digital resources into their teaching. Group discussions, case studies, and peer feedback will help participants share ideas and refine their approaches to museum-based learning.
Assessment will be formative, focusing on practical application and creativity. Participants will be evaluated based on their engagement in workshops, the development of creative lesson plans and activities, and their ability to integrate museum resources into classroom settings. Additional resources such as AR, video case studies, articles on museum education, and examples of creative museum-based activities.

Certification details

Participants will receive a detailed Certificate of Attendance including their full name,names of the sender and host organisations, instructor name/names,course title, dates, total hour of instruction and location. The certificate will also feature a brief description highlighting the key topics covered during the course.

    The course package includes daily workshop handouts, tool guides, storyboarding templates, access to all presentation slides, and a resource library of storytelling samples and lesson ideas. Participants will also receive digital badges and a Certificate of Attendance featuring their name, course title, location, dates, and a short description of the course topic. These materials are designed to support continued practice and implementation after the course ends.
