Description

Language & Practical Methodology (EFL Attachment) for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language

Objectives

This course is aimed at providing non-native teachers of English as a Foreign Language with insights into their own and colleagues' teaching practice in a pan-European context by means of one week’s Practical Methodology Training in Bayswater Cyprus or The English Learning Centre, (a specialist language school) – NOT AVAILABLE from April to September inclusive.

Format

1 or 2 Weeks: Linguistic/Cultural Component: Interactive English language

(classroom) sessions in Bayswater Cyprus or The English Learning Centre International student classes.

1 Week: Practical Methodology Attachment: (5 full days per week, - guided observations, working with Bayswater Cyprus or The English Learning Centre Teacher(s).

Methodology & assessment

Linguistic / Cultural Component- 1 week
SAT. or SUN. - Travel and arrival in accommodation
MON. - FRI. - Learning and observing in Bayswater Cyprus or The English Learning Centre student class. Bayswater Cyprus or The English Learning Centre tutorial preparing the Practical Methodology Component. Advice, help and strategies for achieving Needs Analysis aims and identifying individual needs & areas of professional interest.
WEEKEND - Weekend (on arrival or between two course weeks) are devoted to informal learning through self-study, personal research, cultural visits, trips and activities, exchange of ideas and experience as well as practicing language skills in everyday situations.
FRIDAY - CULTURAL TRIP - One day excursion per course is included in course fees. Further optional trips at extra cost are available upon request.
PRACTICAL METHODOLOGY COMPONENT - 1 week
