Steming with Monet and friends_Welcome
Title
Stemimg with Monet and Friends...
Short description
Paintings of various famous artists and their study become an occasion for the subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to enter the everyday life kindergarten classes through the eTwinning community in an interesting and playful way... Will those artists manage to collaborate with scientists, engineers, mathematicians and technologists so as to spark interest and draw children into the adventure of discovery?
Integrating a non-Stem subject (Art) with STEM!
Aims
The main objective of this project is to help students cultivate a sense of adventure and discovery every time they come across an art work. We hope to make them understand the various ways a painting can and should be “investigated, examined and tested”. And overall, the goal is to have fun working together.
By the end, students will be able to approach art in a critical and playful manner. They will be a step closer in becoming successful problem solvers by
leveraging multiple mathematical competencies and drawing on multiple sources of
knowledge. Moreover, students will improve the perceptive capabilities, to cultivate the
pleasure of creating something as a team-in class and with our coworkers.
Trends such as Collaborative learning, Game-based learning, Peer learning, Visual search and learning, Web resources as learning materials will be used, as well as the integration of the 21st century skills such as
Creativity and innovation, Critical thinking and problem solving, Communication and collaboration, Information, Life and career skills, Initiative and self-direction, Social and cross-cultural skills, Productivity and accountability, Leadership and responsibility.
Work process
Communication between partners will take place in regular monthly teleconferences on the eTwinning platform, in a closed Facebook group, via email and on the eTwinning platform.
The communication between the students of the collaborating schools will take place with regular monthly teleconferences, with the exchange of challenges and the use of technology, with the posting on the eTwinning platform of the produced projects, with photos, videos, voice messages, exchange of postcards.
Our work will take place from November 2022 to May 2023.
The first month will be dedicated to getting to know each other, schools, teachers and students’ presentations and the division of tasks. In the months that follow each school undertakes to organize challenges for all the others. The last month will concern the evaluation and the dissemination of the results of the project.
Expected results
Publishing the results in the local electronic press, on school blogs and organizing exhibitions in the participating schools, are some of the actions we will take to disseminate the results of the project.
