Reading comprehension: The student is able to comprehend written texts in standard language on familiar or school-related topics as well as those pertaining to their leisure time. They possess the ability to comprehend brief written messages and information related to their personal life, hobbies and interests, or simple current events and topics in civilization. Writing production: They are capable of writing simple reports and composing brief letters or messages aimed at peers or family members. They demonstrate the ability to produce written expressions and sentences, utilizing appropriate connectors and formulating personal opinions on familiar topics pertaining to daily life, while employing ICT. They are also adept at writing notes, postcards, and messages. Language reflection: They have the capacity to establish relationships between simple linguistic-communicative elements specific to the languages they are studying, and are able to correctly apply linguistic structures. Culture: They can identify cultural elements conveyed by their native language or education language, and compare them to those conveyed by the foreign language.

The student uses the basic means of language that enable implementation the other general requirements within the topics: human, place where I live, education, private life, food and drinks, travelling, culture, sport, technology, natural world, social life. Students understand oral and written statements: respond to commands, define the main idea of the statement, define the speaker’s intentions, find specific information in the statement. Students create oral and written statements: describe people, things, places, speak about events from the past and present, tell about facts from the past and present, describe his/her preferences, express and justify his/her opinions, express his/her feelings, uses formal or informal style of statement. Students respond orally and in a written form in typical situations: introduce themselves, make friends, obtain and pass information and explanation, express their opinion, ask about someone’s opinion, express and ask about preferences, exchange wishes, express feeling and emotions, uses formal and informal style. Students process a text orally or in a written form. Students have basic knowledge about English-speaking countries, they also have a cultural awareness. Students can make self-assessment. They can cooperate in groups. They use different sources of information, also with a use of ICT. Students uses communication and compensating strategies in language. Students develop language and cultural awareness.
