BEE DAY

Bee Day is a special occasion when we focus on appreciating these hardworking insects and their invaluable contribution to our lives. Wild pollinators such as bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other insects play a key role in pollinating plants. Here are some of the benefits these small but incredibly important creatures bring us:

Plant Pollination: Wild pollinators transfer pollen from flower to flower, which is necessary for the fruiting of many plants. Without pollinators, many of our favorite fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants would not thrive.
Biodiversity: Wild pollinators help maintain biodiversity. Their activities contribute to the preservation of various plant species, which is crucial for a healthy ecosystem.
Food Production: Bees and other pollinators are essential to food production. Without them, we would not have access to many products, such as fruit, nuts, coffee or chocolate.
Improving Agricultural Yields: Thanks to pollinators, agricultural plants such as apple trees, apricots and strawberries achieve higher yields. This, in turn, translates into greater availability of food for people.

Now it's time for the adventures of little Twinni the bee!

In the comic we can follow her everyday life, discover new flowers, meet other insects and learn how important her work is in pollinating plants. Will Twinni have the courage to cross the vast flower fields? Will he discover the secret hidden in the old oak tree? It all depends on our little heroine!

Let us remember that each bee has its own role and is irreplaceable in our ecosystem. Let's thank them for their hard work and take care of their environment!

Pollinators such as bees are of great importance to the natural environment and human life.   They are so important because they pollinate plants. They help plants produce seeds and fruits. Without their action, many plant species would not produce crops. Bees are essential for the reproduction of many wild plants and for the production of seeds.

Especially in hot months, when there are no water reservoirs nearby and access to it may be limited, remember about insect waterers. 💦🐝🐝
If we create a waterer ourselves, let's pay attention to several important aspects. In order for pollinators to quench their thirst without the risk of drowning or getting sick, you should:
💧 use a shallow container or a board with grooves filled with water,
💧 put natural raw materials inside the container such as: moss, bark, sticks, expanded clay works great,
💧 avoid materials containing harmful chemicals that may penetrate the water (e.g. old tire),
💧 if possible, place the waterer in the shade, avoid materials that get very hot,
💧 it is important to keep the waterer clean and refill water regularly,
💧 in the best case, cover the waterer (with glass or plexiglass, net, board, special cover).

Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies, and bumblebees, play a crucial role in ecosystems by assisting in plant reproduction through pollen transfer. Thanks to them, many cultivated and wild plants can bear fruit and produce seeds, ensuring biodiversity and ecosystem stability. Pollination contributes to increased yields and the quality of fruits and vegetables, directly impacting food security. The diversity of pollinator species makes plants less susceptible to diseases and pests, reducing the need for chemical plant protection products. Additionally, pollinators have economic significance, supporting agriculture and food production, which translates into financial benefits for farmers and the economy as a whole.
