Copyright and Free Sources
COPYRIGHT
Topics for discussion in your class:
- What do you know about copyright?
- Have you heard about Creative Commons licences?
- What happens if I use a copyrighted image on the web?
Conclusions:
Copyright is a law that provides protection to creators. It gives the right to decide what other people can do with their creations.
We will aim at discussing terms like copyright law, public domain, fair use and Creative Commons licences.
Creative Commons license like CCBYNC or CCBYNCSA will help us grant copyright permissions to our creative work.
We will come back in February to check how much you remember. There will be a celebration for Safer Internet Day on 7th February and we will dedicate some tasks to it.
TIP: How to search for free images(Check presentation)
- Google Advance Search
- Free Sources(images and music Wakelet Collection)
- Creative Commons
- Do a Google reverse image search. Right click on the image and select “copy image address”. Paste it on Google Seach or a reverse searcher such as TinEye to know if the image is copyrighted.
