Description

Teaching students 21st-century skills is of great importance as we prepare them for a rapidly changing, interconnected world. These skills encompass critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, all of which are key pillars for success in today's dynamic world. In an age marked by information abundance and technological advancements, students must be equipped with the ability to analyze, synthesize, and apply knowledge critically. Effective communication and collaboration are crucial for building bridges and working harmoniously with diverse global communities. Furthermore, fostering creativity empowers students to think outside the box, innovate, and solve complex problems, preparing them to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Teaching 21st-century skills empowers students academically and nurtures adaptable, resilient, and empathetic individuals who can thrive in an ever-evolving world. These skills are the key to unlocking their full potential

Learning objectives

The aim of this training is to equip educators with the knowledge and skills required to effectively develop and nurture 21st-century skills, focusing on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, within their classrooms. By the end of the programme, participants will have a deeper understanding of global competence and its significance in preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world. They will also gain practical strategies and resources to integrate and assess 21st-century skills in their teaching practices, enabling them to cultivate students' abilities to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate successfully, and unleash their creative potential.

Methodology & assessment

The training course methodology includes a learner-centred approach and a focus on enhancing continued personal development. The training aims not to produce ready-made solutions (passive learning) but to inspire the participants to search creatively for knowledge and effective solutions connected with their needs and challenges (active learning). In this way, the participants take responsibility for their own learning process and act as active partners in the training.

Through a combination of theory and hands-on activities, teachers will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to effectively develop and nurture 21st-century skills, focusing on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, within their classrooms. Methods such as debate, pair and group work, and individual practical exercises will be used throughout the course.

After the training course, attention will be given to how to implement the findings and skills in real daily working situations.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

This course equips educators with key 21st-century skills through interactive materials, digital collaboration tools (Miro, Padlet, Trello), and EdTech platforms (Kahoot, Mentimeter, Canva). Participants engage with self-assessment tools, case studies, and scenario-based activities to enhance problem-solving and adaptability. Digital guides and toolkits provide practical strategies for integrating innovation into modern classrooms.
