Writing letters

Partners can address to a character

Here, our pupils have the opportunity to write a letter directly to one of their favourite characters from a literary masterpiece.
In the following Twinboard, the partners will:
1. indicate the character to write to (to...), the work from which it is taken (with its author).
2. write the body of the letter
3. write their own signature, from ...
4. add a photo to represent the letter, generated with AI.

Let's start writing!

Our letters
Begüm from Türkiye
Dear Paul, I felt compelled to put my admiration into words after the profound journey I've shared with you through the pages of "Dune" by Frank Herbert. Your character has left an indelible mark on my imagination and heart. Your evolution from a young noble to the Kwisatz Haderach is a testament to your strength and resilience. The complexities of your internal struggles, the weight of your destiny, and the intricacies of the world of Arrakis have made your story truly unforgettable. Your leadership, strategic acumen, and the deep connection you share with the desert environment have made you a character of rare depth and complexity. Your journey has sparked reflection on themes of power, fate, and the consequences of choice. Thank you, Paul, for being a beacon of inspiration. Your presence has added immeasurable richness to the world of literature, and your story will continue to resonate within me. I look forward to revisiting the sands of Arrakis and the remarkable tapestry of your adventures whenever I seek wisdom and courage. With admiration Begüm
Erdem from Turkiye
Dear Gregor, In the surreal cocoon of transformation, your metamorphosis echoes the complexities of the human experience. Kafka weaves a narrative that delves into the alienation and isolation you endure, provoking profound reflections on identity and societal expectations. Your journey is both unsettling and poignant, a testament to the intricacies of the human condition.
Letter to Winston from "1984" George Orwell Ahmet from hasan aybaba anatolian high school
Dear winston, i read your journey in 1984 and i want to tell you something it might be crucial but the country you live in is not a place where you can change by yourself.if i were you i wouldnt try to express myself.your people doesnt want to be happy or free. if they did they could change the country.but in your case there is no one you can trust.just try to survive Good luck
Letter to Osamu Dazai "While I was losing my humanity"Nida from Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School
Dear Osamu Dazai, you are a special character for me, both good and bad. You hide your personality all your life, I think it is very difficult, but you always manage to do it, so I congratulate you, but I am very angry with you because you have very strange attitudes towards women, you look at them as if they are very strange, but you You're doing this to them and I don't like that you're playing with so many women's emotions. I don't think women are what you describe.
Letter to Sherlock Holmes from "Sherlock Holmes" Arthur Conan Doyle . İklim from Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School
Dear Sherlock Holmes, Your intellect and detective prowess are legendary. Each tale tied to your name solidifies the belief that no mystery eludes you. Your mastery in deciphering puzzles, exceptional logic, and keen observations are truly inspiring. Your ability to notice what evades others and unravel endless enigmas astounds us. Meeting you or aiding your investigations would be a dream. There's much to learn from you. Grateful for your brilliance. Admiringly, İklim
Letter The Litter Prince Antoine de Saint -Exupery Aylin from hasan aybaba anatolian high school
I am so excited to write this letter to you!  As I read about your adventures in the book, I began to love you. Your inquisitive nature and ability to ask the big questions in life, your admiration for the stars, and your emphasis on the importance of friendship resonated with me.   Little Prince, your story reminded me of the true meaning of life.  If I were you, I would do the same thing. Your innocence, love and loyalty inspired me.  I hope you can always keep the child inside and appreciate the beauty of the world. I want to thank you because your story fascinated me in a magical way.
A letter to Gregor Samsa Begüm from Turkish Team
Dear Gregor Samsa, I found it ridiculous that you thought about your family even when you turned into an insect. You should have thought about your own happiness and trying to make your family accept you was an unnecessary effort. If it were me, I would think more about myself and be afraid.
William Shakespeare "Othello", Esma from Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School, Turkish Team.
Othello, I want to tell you many things. First of all, I was shocked and truly saddened by the ending I encountered. I don't know how you could be manipulated and kill your own wife. I happily waited for you to overcome every obstacle and finally have a happy life. I also expected you to trust your wife more, you might have been suspicious but Iago couldn't have been more honest. I think your problem is that you did this without properly questioning the woman you fell in love with.
Letter to Sydney Carton from "A Tale Of Two Cities" Bengisu, Turkish Team
Dear Sydney Carton, You made a big sacrifice for the woman you love, even it costs your life. I think nobody can do such a thing for the person they love, because everyone put themselves first no matter how much they love that person. But you genuinely in love with her. If i were you i wouldn't do this sacrifice, i guess.
The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde. Yasemin, Hasibe Yalçınkaya.
Dear Dorian, Firstly, the character truly fascinated me, and I found myself getting lost in the depths of the story. The concept of eternal youth and beauty captivates me however is external beauty is not everything. Dorian and if i were you i would do the same as you. Because I think it is nice to experience the change of soul and enjoy the beauty, even if it's in a bad way.
A letter to Martın Eden; Rabia from Hasan Aybaba
dear martin First of all, I don't think you really love Ruht. I think you were impressed because you found her different from the women around you, but your love was truly beautiful. I thought you and Lizzie would have a great life if you hadn't committed suicide.
Letter to Raskolnikov from the book Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky, Zehra
You really don't know what you want to do. your first move to Alyona Ivanovna was right for me because you thought right however you screwed up and killed Lizaveta too. And if you decided to something big and brave thing you just can't change your mind because it can be too late to correct and it was , when then you killed Alyona Ivanovna, you realized what you did and if the cops ask you "did you see the Alyona Ivanovna?" your going to say "I even don't know her". İts really simple like i said
A letter to John from Dead Poets Society
Hello John! I'm Zeynep. I am 16 years old. I am a high school student. I am considered one of your students. Even though I am not very fond of literature, it is still among my favorite subjects. But I am someone who is interested in poetry. Even though I don't like writing poetry, I like reading poetry. Especially like that event you did at midnight. So, this activity that you used to do but your students continue. I think poems, poetry recitals and writing poems are things that reveal a person's soul. Because when we write poetry, we are free and we leave our emotions to the words without suppressing them. When reading poetry, we normally find poems that reflect us more impressive. Revealing the talents, feelings and thoughts of your students like a poem can be a concrete example of what I say. I found everything you did and everything you thought so fascinating. I agree with most of what you said. Your students are very lucky to have a teacher like you. Good day O captain, My captain.
Letter to An Unknown Woman from "Letter From An Unknown Woman"by Stefan Zweig,Berra from Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School
Your feelings surprise me every time. I think it is unreasonable to upset yourself if the other person doesn't feel love for you. It seems incredible to me you have such feelings at such a young age. I think these feelings have started to turn into something much more than love. This has become an obsession. .This man doesn't care about you.I wish Mr. R. had not found out about the existence of his child after his death. You would have had a chance as a mother and father.
A letter to Werther (The Sorrows of Young Werther )Yeliz from Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School
Dear Werther as much as I love you, I am very angry. Because I think you can't control your emotions and you are no longer in love with Lotte but obsessed with her. Lotte loved you, yes, but she didn't love you back, she couldn't love you and if she had loved you back, you wouldn't have been so attached, because you were in love with an impossibility.you were in a very difficult situation, but you shouldn't have given up,you should have opened a new page in your life and you should have tried
A letter to Mephistopheles, from Faust, Goethe, Giuseppe Acampora-Italian Team
Dear Mephistoteles, I hope this letter finds you well amidst the infernal realm. Whilst i was reading about you a qoute struck me "I am the spirit that always denies!" a potent insight from Goethe, that encapsulates your essence, that has left me stunned, this concept of bargain who doesn't descend in symbiosis and your shifting nature (from Marlowe to Goethe) has left me full of questions that I cannot develop here, so I hope to met you for a tea (and not my soul). With dark admiration, Joe
Letter to Siddharta ("Siddharta" by Hermann Hesse) from Angela, Italian team
Dear Siddharta, knowing you has been one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. I'm just like you: curious and restless, with an unstoppable desire to know everything about life. How hard is it to find the answers to our doubts? With your lifelong research, you showed me the right way to do it, you taught me that true peace is not in the continuos pursuit for something that we think distant or hidden, it lies instead in the present reality,in ourselves. Thank you for being a role model
Letter to Scout Finch from “To kill a mockingbird” by Harper Lee Lorenzo Italian Team
Dear Scout, Your adventures in “To Kill a Mockingbird” really inspired me. Your bravery, curiosity and sense of justice are incredible. You are like an old wise stucked in the body of a child. The way you fight your battles and your sense of morality and compassion will always be a reference point for me. Keep standing up for what’s right. I want to thank you for all the things I learned from you. Best wishes Lorenzo
Letter to Peeta Mellark ("Hunger games" by Suzanne Collins) from Chiara Donnarumma, Italian team
Dear Peeta, knowing you was a wonderful experience. You’re such a charming, intelligent, sweet, generous, determined person, and I could go on and on describing all the things that struck me about you. But the trait of your personality that I love most is your kindness, the way you would do everything for the person you love, because I would behave the same way. I learned a lot from you, you’re an inspiration, a role model, thank you.
Letter to the postman from “If cats disappeared from the world” by Genki Kawamura. Lina, Italian Team
Dear postman, You should always remember that beauty often resides in the little things. Don’t waste your time, stay with who you love and embrace the present with gratitude. Life is short and cannot be used to ask too many questions and be afraid. Don't fear the end, but try to live happy moments to keep in your soul forever. Be kind to yourself and accept the flow of time with serenity. Make every day, even the most common, the most beautiful of all. With affection, Lina
Letter to the Little Prince of "Antoine De Saint-exupéry" (Giuseppe Fattoruso from the italian team)
Dear Little Prince, Through your pure gaze and your love for roses, you taught us that what is essential is invisible to the eyes. Your friendship with the rose reminds us of the preciousness of what we love, even if it may sometimes seem ephemeral. May you continue to explore the sky and the worlds, bringing with you the light of the stars and the magic of your encounters. Your wandering spirit is an invitation to dream and seek meaning in the little things. Best wishes Giuseppe
Letter to Harry Potter-Angelica Todisco, Italian team
Dear Harry… Your journey, from the cupboard under the stairs to Hogwarts, has inspired countless hearts, including mine. In the story of your adventures I discovered the power of courage and friendship. Your ability to face the darkest forces with determination is an example of life for all; from your story I learned that even in the face of adversity you can find strength in the bonds of true friendship. Thank you for being more than just a character in a book. With admiration, Angelica

Solen
