Cultivation of Critical Thinking: Exploring literary quotes encourages students to analyze and interpret excerpts from books, thus fostering critical thinking and discussions about the impact of literature on our lives.
Encouragement of Reading Recommendations: The book recommendation activity promotes the sharing of favorite books, which can lead to cultural discussions and the discovery of new literary works, aligning with the theme of cultural and interpersonal encounters.
Enhancement of Writing Skills: The collaborative murder mystery story-writing activity encourages students to work together in international teams, promoting creativity and storytelling skills, reflecting the theme of encounters between individuals.
Discussion of Relevant Themes: Debates on censorship and the creation of mind maps on this topic address issues of freedom of expression and the role of literature in society, aligning with discussions on confronting differences and otherness.
Incorporation of Technology: The use of interactive online tools for games, quizzes, and virtual meetings demonstrates how technology can be used to facilitate communication and collaboration, in line with the social and cultural environment in which encounters take place.
Promotion of Literary Imaginations: The project encourages students to share the books and characters that inspire them, which can be seen as an exploration of the imaginary worlds created by authors. Books serve as gateways to rich imaginary universes.
Exploration of Imaginary Themes: Although the project is centered around encounters through literature, it also provides opportunities to discuss imaginary themes present in books. For example, when analyzing literary quotes, students can engage in discussions about fantastical themes, elements of science fiction, or other imaginative aspects of literary works.
Creativity in Collaborative Murder Mystery Writing: The collaborative murder mystery story-writing activity stimulates students' creativity by inviting them to imagine and create a fictional story. This can be considered an exploration of literary imagination.
Debates on Censorship and Freedom of Expression: Discussions about censorship and freedom of expression in literature may include references to imaginary works that have been censored or have raised questions about the boundaries of imagination. This can be linked to the exploration of the imaginative dimensions of literature.
In Italy, this project was conducted with Liceo Scientifico class 4D. English literature is the subject of study from the third to the fifth year of high school; in this case, the project gave them the opportunity to combine English literature, which already implies the strengthening of English language skills, with the development of digital skills, in order to make their study more engaging, while also respecting different learning styles
This project was also conducted in collaboration with other teachers in the class: the issues on which they reflected were excellent food for thought for the pupils, who were called upon to write argumentative texts in Italian (their mother tongue). The debate, moreover, was useful for them to understand how to organize pros and cons of the same topic, which they then developed in other subjects as well.
In Türkiye; (Hasibe Yalçınkaya)This project was conducted by Hasan Aybaba Anatolian High School 11th graders . Although we didn’t have English literature in our curriculum I wanted to give them an opportunity to improve their language and digital skills and also to help them understand the English language was not only a lesson it’s the way of understanding communicating with their peers from other countries, this project gave them a lot of opportunities. So hat their lessons became more engaging and exciting and enjoyable .this project encouraged them to share their favourite literary quotes,book recommendations, writing collaborative murder story, and debating about book censorship or freedom of speech. So that they could improve their critical thinking and creativity.i myself as a teacher I learned a lot of things and improve my skills .This project is rewarding experience for all of us collaborating with colleagues from different countries and facilitating joint work among our students was enriching .this project fostered a sense of multiculturalism and global connectivity ,working together they had the opportunity to explore different literary perspectives and broaden their horizons , it’s inspiring to witness how this initiative sparked creativity and enthusiasm among participants especially when they were asked to recommend books and to co-write their own story;overall the eTwinning project was a great platform for promoting international collaboration and appreciation for literature within global context
The project combined several disciplines - art, literature,moral and social sciences to offer a comprehensive and engaging understanding literacy This multidisciplinary approach facilitates the connection between different areas of knowledge, promoting integrated and meaningful learning,social awareness, active participation consciousness, collaboration,team spirit,social responsibility .students became responsible and active citizens
