This project aims to foster collaboration and cultural exchange among students through a series of interactive activities centered around books and literature. The project encourages participants to engage in meaningful discussions, share personal connections with books, and explore important themes in literature.

 

The objectives of the project are to:

  1. Promote Personal Connections: Participants share their identities and preferences through books, revealing aspects of themselves through presentations about books that represent them and characters they resonate with.
  2. Cultivate Critical Thinking: Literary Quotes Exploration encourages students to analyze and interpret quotes, fostering deeper thinking and discussions about the impact of literature on personal lives.
  3. Encourage Reading Recommendations: The Book Recommendations activity promotes sharing favorite books, exploring their influence, and engaging in dialogue about literary preferences.
  4. Enhance Writing Skills: Co-writing a murder story challenges students to collaborate in international teams, enhancing their creativity and storytelling abilities.
  5. Discuss Relevant Themes: The debate about censorship and creating a mind map on the topic delve into thought-provoking subjects, encouraging students to think critically about freedom of expression and the role of literature.
  6. Incorporate Technology: Interactive games, quizzes, and online meetings provide opportunities for engagement and collaborative learning, while discussions about netiquette, e-safety rules, and copyright ensure a safe and respectful online environment.

Work process:

  1. September : Parental consent and curricular integration
  2. September : Netiquette and Online Safety: Discussing guidelines for online interactions, promoting a respectful and secure virtual environment.
  3. Throughout the project : tInteractive Games and Quizzes: Incorporating Kahoot, Wordwall, or similar tools to make learning interactive and engaging.(-> thanks to add the tools we use to the subpage entitled 'ICT tools)
  4. September/October: Introduction and Icebreaker: "Getting to Know Each Other through Books" presentation, exploring personal connections with literature.
  5. November: Literary Quotes Exploration: Sharing and discussing meaningful quotes from diverse books, followed by personal reflections.
  6. November : Book Recommendations: Compiling and discussing lists of favorite books, encouraging cross-cultural literary exploration.
  7. December: Writing Letters to Characters: Writing letters to favorite literary characters, connecting with the themes and values portrayed in the books.
  8. December/January :Xmas and NY wishes
  9. January : Debate and Mind Map: Engaging in a debate about book censorship and co-creating a mind map to explore the concept further.
  10. February : Co-writing a Murder Story: Collaborative international teams create a murder story, potentially accompanied by illustrations.
  11. March: Logo Competition: Organizing a logo competition to enhance student engagement and creativity.
  12. April : Dissemination
  13. June : Evaluation


 

Outcome: The project fosters a rich exchange of ideas, cultural insights, and literary appreciation among students. Through interactive activities and discussions, participants gain a deeper understanding of their peers' perspectives, broaden their literary horizons, and develop critical thinking skills. Collaborative projects like co-writing a murder story and the creation of a mind map encourage teamwork and creativity. By the project's end, students not only have enriched their knowledge of literature but also developed a sense of global community and improved their digital communication skills. The project's diverse activities ensure a well-rounded experience that blends literature, creativity, technology, and cultural understanding.
