The 18th Gymnasium is a language-oriented high school where three programmes are implemented: language, bilingual Croatian-German, and bilingual Croatian-French programme. The language gymnasium programme offers an intensified schedule of foreign language classes (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish).

Through optional classes, students can learn more than two compulsory foreign languages, as well as various other subjects, such as Rhetoric, Creative Writing, and Vocal Polyphonic Music.

As extracurricular activities, students can participate in the work of the journalism group, photography group, drama group, UNESCO group, etc. Students have the opportunity to take internationally recognized exams in German (DSD) and French language (DELF) at a level that enables them to continue their education in the countries where those languages are spoken.

The school is small, with around 350 students and around 50 teachers, which is one of its advantages. Both students and teachers enjoy conducting various projects, i. e. we were pioneers in implementing project-based teaching in Zagreb, and recently, as a part of the accreditation process, we have placed greater emphasis on implementing Erasmus+ projects.
