LTTA - Mobility: to Poland
Students articles about LTTA in Poland
Monday 27th March
On Sunday, the students and teachers from Portugal came to Poland and today we had our first meeting. We had many activities, for example: meeting with the school principal, integration games, visit to the Cathedral, City Hall and meeting with the Lublin City Youth Council. In our opinion, the icebreaker activities were amazing and fun. Then, the visit to the city hall was interesting because we felt welcomed. The last thing we did, the visit to the youth council was the funniest thing of the day because it's a great thing for our generation. We hope Santarém opens a place such as this. The day was a 5 out of 5 in our opinion.

Tuesday 28th March
The day started at 10 am with a tour of the school. During this tour, we were presented with a dance and song by the school, performed by Polish children. During that presentation it started to snow and this was the first time in the week. At the end of this tour, the students went outside to see the snow, which for many would be their first time. Upon returning inside, the students were taken to a cooking workshop where they learned how to make typical Polish food, which they then tried. Then they went to the school cafeteria for lunch. After lunch they went for a walk along the Bystrzyca River. Finally, they were exposed to an integration activity in the school pool. In our opinion, this day was more fun because we weren't so embarrassed anymore. The parts we liked the most were the snow and the pool.

On Tuesday we met at 10.00am. The 8th grade students showed the Portugese students around our school. We visited the common room where the children sang a few songs and danced. During the whole performance it started snowing, so all of the Portugese students went outside to take pictures, because most of them had never seen snow. Next, there was a cooking workshop where we prepared onion cakes and apple pie. After baking, everyone could taste their creations. After that, we had lunch at school. After lunch we left school for a walk along the Bystrzyca river. Finally, we had swimming lessons.

Wednesday 29th March
The day started with us going to the National Park (Roztoczaanski National Park).
The first thing we saw was the house of a person that used to preserve the forest and didn’t allow hunters to hunt wolves, deers and lynxes. Then we saw mountain horses, who are small and have a lot of fur. After that we saw a big artificial lake and near that lake there was a beach.
Before our lunch we went to a museum, where they gave us devices that whenever we entered a room, it described everything and explained it. Then we had lunch, and after that we saw small parts of a city and went into the forest where we did activities.
After the walk in the forest, we saw a cemetery, and went back to the bus to visit a village.
In that village our guide dressed up the way people used to dress back in time, and explained most of the things of that city, talked about a really rich family who built the village and helped a lot, in the end our guide had a surprise to us, that was a cannon where he threw up a paper ball so we could see how it works.

On Wednesday we left school at 7.00 a.m. First, we got an exercise about plants and trees from our teacher. Then we picked up Portuguese students and teachers from their hotel. When we arrived in Zwierzyniec, we rode by small cars called “Melex” to Florianka, where we saw an old-fashioned house and barn. After that, we went to see some horses. Then we drove to Stawy Echo. We climbed on a viewing tower and the views were beautiful. The sun was shining, so we went to the tiny beach which was really pretty and we took a lot of photos of nature here. Next stop was a museum about nature and animals. We got headphones, guides and we went on a museum tour. We got hungry, so after seeing everything in the museum, we drove to the restaurant for dinner. After lunch we went for a little walk through the streets of Zamość..We visited, among others, the church on the water until we finally reached the main destination. To the Roztocze National Park. The task was to write down in groups of two to three people what we see, hear and feel, depending on which sense we drew. The road through the Park was long, tiring and full of many interesting rock and plant monuments. After leaving the forest, a bus was waiting for us, but before that we went to the cemetery, where ordinary villagers who were killed by the Germans during Hitler's times were buried. After the cemetery, we got on the coach and went to the Old Town in Zamość. After arriving, the guide had to leave us for a while, because he had a surprise for us. After 10 minutes, he came back dressed in the typical winter attire of the nobility in the old days. During the tour, he showed us residential buildings built from different eras and different styles. Right before the end, we took a commemorative photo. However, that was not the end. The guide had another huge surprise for us. He showed us what the cannon looked like in the old days and its service. We did not shoot ordinary bullets, but for greater safety, a sheet of paper. Even so, the sound of the shot was terribly loud. After this great event, he said goodbye to us, and we returned to Lublin. We got home at 9:00 pm, but despite the exhaustion of all of us, we all agree that it was an unforgettable trip
