In General

The purpose of this environmental eTwinning program is for the students to become aware of the relationship between man and his natural and social environment, to become aware of environmental problems and to become active in order to contribute to the general effort to deal with them.

Our focus is on:

The interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to the subject/problem.

The emphasis on the active participation of students and the use of active methods: discussion – confrontation opinions, research, critical processing and action.

The orientation towards the prevention or resolution of environmental issues or problems.

The focus on sustainable management and development of the environment.

The focus of attention on the present and future state of the environment.

Immediate action at local level with long-term results at national and global level.

Raising awareness of the rational use of natural resources and the "correct use" of Technology.

Providing equal opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, values ​​and attitudes needed to environmental Protection.

The promotion of cooperation, the cultivation of values ​​and the creation of new standards, attitudes and behaviors individuals, groups and society towards the environment.

Methodological approaches:

Work Plan- Defining objectives - Planning the work and forming small groups - Assigning and

implementation of tasks at individual and group level - Discussion of results and scheduling of download measures - Presentation – Evaluation

Problem solving-Identification and investigating the problem/issue - Setting goals for solving or participating in solving problem - Investigating alternative solutions - Writing criteria for choosing the possible/realistic solution - Choosing the appropriate solution or solutions according to the principles of sustainability - Establishing an action plan- Implementation of the action - Evaluation and feedback of the process.

Field study

Teacher preparation: Preparatory visit and familiarization with the subject of study,

dealing with formal procedures-Preparation of students: Formulation of objectives, organization of activities to be developed, drawing data from information sources- Work in the field: Dividing the students into groups, which undertake to implement the specific activities: Observation, data recording, photography, sampling, if the material it is not rare- Class Work: Conducting experiments to verify or reject hypotheses and evidence, synthesis of the data, communication of the results.

As a result

We will have cultivated the 21st Century Learning soft skills: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity in our students.

Evaluation

During the implementation of this Environmental Education program, evaluation is considered necessary, because through this the effectiveness of the educational practice is evaluated and the continuous improvement of learning outcomes. The axes and evaluation criteria result from the objectives that initially they were also raised by their level of achievement. The axes of evaluation can be the development of psychomotor skills and abilities, the quality of the work and the presentation of the program.
