STEAM WITH CONSTRUCTIVE ACTIVITIES FOR KINDERGARTENS

The course integrates the STEAM approach with LEGO DUPLO. By using the LEGO DUPLO materials, the participants will acquire skills to integrate the STEAM concept (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) into their teaching practice. This approach is very exciting for young learners, such as children of kindergarten age, preschoolers, and elementary school pupils.

Description

The course is designed for kindergarten and primary school teachers, special needs teachers, teacher trainers, educational guides, career officers, counselors, and school leaders. The curriculum integrates STEAM concepts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) with practical construction activities, using tools like LEGO DUPLO. It includes workshops on various themes such as ecology, entrepreneurship, light and shadows, probabilities, weight balance mechanisms, acceleration, distance control, management, and coding, aiming to blend methodology with hands-on learning experiences. During the 7-day course participants will be introduced to:

Concept of STEAM, Constructive activities in kindergarten, STEAM in kindergarten with LEGO DUPLO, Ecology, Entrepreneurship, Light and Shadows with STEAM and LEGO DUPLO for kids, Probabilities, Weight, Balance, Mechanisms with STEAM and LEGO DUPLO for kids, Acceleration, Distance, Control and Management with STEAM and LEGO DUPLO for kids,

Learning objectives

The learning objectives of the course are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) concepts into early childhood education through construction-based activities. By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand the key components of STEAM education and its importance in early childhood development.
  • Gain practical skills in using tools like LEGO DUPLO to facilitate learning and teaching in STEAM subjects.
  • Develop the ability to conduct workshops on various themes such as ecology, entrepreneurship, light and shadows, probabilities, weight balance mechanisms, acceleration, distance control, management, and coding, blending methodology with hands-on learning experiences.
  • Enhance their teaching methodologies with a focus on hands-on learning experiences, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in young learners.
  • Learn to integrate interdisciplinary and hands-on approaches int

Methodology & assessment

The methodology and assessment of the "STEAM with construction activities for Kindergartens" course are structured to ensure participants gain hands-on experience and a thorough understanding of integrating STEAM concepts into early childhood education.
Hands-on Learning: The course emphasizes learning by doing, where participants engage in construction activities using tools like LEGO DUPLO to explore STEAM concepts.
Workshops: Various workshops are conducted on themes like ecology, entrepreneurship, light and shadows, and more, allowing participants to apply STEAM concepts practically.
Assessment:
Workshop Performance: Assess their ability to apply STEAM concepts during workshops, particularly in constructing activities with materials like LEGO DUPLO and other sets.
Participation and Engagement: Measure their active participation and engagement in all course activities, including group work and discussions.
Project Development: Assess their capability to develop a STEAM activity, foc
