Description
This course is aimed at teachers and school staff from primary to adult level as well as educational advisors and staff of non-government organizations, government, and policymakers.
The Montessori method, an alternative teaching method is becoming more and more popular in schools since students nowadays require a different, more tactile, hands-on approach.
This non-traditional approach offers a freer style of education that is led by children’s needs and interests rather than following a strict curriculum. In this approach, evaluation and acquisition of knowledge are more important than just getting good grades.
The aim of the course is to aid educators in moving their classrooms to a more 21st-century skill-focused environment but in an alternative way. Participants will learn about the history and implementation of the Montessori method, and explore practical ideas concerning the Montessori method. They will also experience the method first-hand and make their own Montessori mate
Learning objectives
Participants will:
- learn about the three-period lesson
- learn about the Montessori approach and how to make Montessori materials
- gain a clear understanding of the learning process and learning techniques in the Montessori method
- learn certain methods of the Montessori way of teaching and preparing the students for success
- experience different circle time activities learn about the importance of child’s independence and peek of interest
- make their own Montessori material
- enrich communication skills, improve foreign language competencies and engage in the cross-cultural learning experience
