Description
Duration: 5 days (flexible for Erasmus+ mobility)
''Future-Ready Teaching: Innovation and Critical Thinking” equips educators with the skills and mindset to design engaging, technology-enhanced learning experiences that inspire creativity and deepen analytical reasoning. Through collaborative workshops and real-world scenarios, participants explore strategies for integrating emerging tools, fostering inquisitive dialogue, and adapting lessons to ever-evolving educational contexts. By the end of the course, instructors will possess a practical toolkit for cultivating resilient, forward-thinking learners prepared to navigate and shape tomorrow’s world.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Design and implement at least two learning activities that leverage emerging educational technologies (e.g., AR/VR simulations, collaborative online platforms) to enhance student engagement.
- Apply critical–creative problem solving frameworks—such as design thinking and the Socratic method—to guide learners through inquiry-based explorations.
- Develop an agile lesson plan template that incorporates formative assessments and iterative feedback loops, enabling rapid adaptation to diverse learner needs.
- Facilitate reflective discussions that prompt students to evaluate evidence, challenge assumptions, and construct reasoned arguments.
- Establish a classroom culture of innovation by co-creating guidelines with students for experimentation, risk-taking, and collaborative learning.
Methodology & assessment
Assessment
Formative assessment is woven into every module via iterative feedback loops: participants receive targeted observations during microteaching, peer reviews on design artifacts, and facilitator coaching on lesson adaptations. A portfolio of evidence—including lesson plans, activity prototypes, and reflective journals—serves as the summ
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Participants will have access to a curated suite of materials and resources designed to support each phase of the course. Core readings and case studies will be provided in a digital course packet, alongside a step-by-step facilitator guide and customizable lesson-plan templates. Hands-on experimentation is supported through trial licenses for leading educational platforms—such as an AR/VR simulation environment, a collaborative design-thinking workspace, and a cloud-based assessment dashboard—and through open-source tools like mind-mapping software and video-annotation apps. A dedicated online hub hosts exemplar lesson libraries, video walkthroughs of microteaching sessions, peer-sharing forums, and a growing repository of student-facing activity guides. Learners may also draw on a range of multimedia assets—infographics, interactive tutorials, and podcasts featuring thought leaders in innovation and critical thinking—to inspire ongoing adaptation and cross-disciplinary application.
