Description
In response to rapid changes in technology and methodologies of teaching tools, there is a need for radical change to take place for ICT to be fully exploited in teaching and learning. As stated in “Survey of Schools: ICT in Education” teachers still believe that insufficient ICT equipment is the biggest obstacle to ICT use in many countries. However, teacher training in ICT is rarely compulsory and most teachers devote their spare time to private study. Thus this 5 days training course is focused on providing the most important information and hands-on practical tools that are needed for educators.
The training course will provide the theory necessary to understand the basics of ICT, educators’ role as well as practical tools to use in teaching and learning. It is structured so that participants can also receive practical knowledge of ICT tools in a hands-on way. They will practice the necessary skills to be able to effectively use digital tools with their students.
Learning objectives
Specific objectives of the seminar are:
- Raise awareness of technological development in teaching and learning
- Introduce an overview of European policy in ICT use in education
- Improve the participants’ personal and professional skills in teaching
- Provide skills and tools to incorporate ICT in educator’s everyday teaching
- Enhance the participant’s ability to adapt to changes
- Help the participants to identify the most suitable approaches in the use of ICT
- Create a cross-cultural environment to discuss and exchange ideas with colleagues
Methodology & assessment
Attention will be given to how to implement the findings and skills in real daily working situations after the training course. Methods such as debate, pair and group work, and individual practical exercises will be used throughout the course.
Assessment of the course combines formal and non-formal assessment methods such as self-evaluation at the end of the course and formal evaluation forms provided by the organisation.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
This course enhances educators' digital skills through interactive materials, EdTech tools, and e-learning platforms. Participants engage with case studies, scenario-based learning, and self-assessment tools to integrate ICT into teaching, enhance digital literacy, and create interactive learning experiences.
