The course aims to introduce educators to digital storytelling and explore the ways in which it can help to foster critical and interpretive thinking and enhance student’s learning experience and motivation.
Description
The course aims to introduce educators to digital storytelling and explore the ways it can help to foster critical and interpretive thinking as well as enhance students’ learning experience and motivation. The course will cover the key elements of digital storytelling as well as provide a hands-on opportunity for participants to create their own digital stories. They will practice the necessary skills in order to be able to effectively use the gained knowledge and tools with their students.

Learning objectives
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Raise awareness of technological development in teaching and learning
- Enhance one’s critical understanding of storytelling, meaning-making and all aspects of production
- Enhance one’s ability to identify the key ingredients involved in building compelling and meaningful stories
- Enhance one’s ability to structure and design effective narratives: style, genre and digital films
- Enhance one’s skills on film making techniques: sound, lighting, framing, interviewing
- Enhance one’s ability to produce digital stories including editing and online distribution
Methodology & assessment
Attention will be given to how to implement the findings and skills in real daily working situations after the training course. Methods such as debate, pair and group work, and individual practical exercises will be used throughout the course.

Practical resources support using narrative techniques, visuals, and digital platforms for engaging learning experiences.
