
Gamify Your Classroom: Active Learning Tools for Teachers
Gamification is a learning technique that transfers the mechanics of games to the educational-professional environment to achieve better results, either to better absorb some knowledge, improve some skill, or reward specific actions, among many other objectives. Playing is associated with a waste of time, but students enjoy the dynamics and exercises, which favors the acquisition of knowledge.
Description
The objectives of the course are:
- Analyse and reflect on the necessity of dynamic methodologies which motivates students
- Describe benefits and drawbacks of educational gamification in the classroom.
- Know how to manage with the game elements and mechanics in order to be applied to any educational environment or homework.
- Provide practical tips on designing and implementing educational gamification sessions.
- Explore several IT tools which can help us to create and develop a game in the classroom.
It is foreseen 4 days of practical lessons and 1 day of visit to a school or organisation dealing with the subjects of the course. Social and cultural activities are foreseen in the course such as City Tour of Valencia and a farewell activity.

Learning objectives
The Learning outcomes of the course are:
- Describe new methodologies in education based on students’ motivation
- Appraise the fundamentals concepts of gamification in the classroom
- Analyse the IT tools and resources to develop gamification sessions
- Create and present a gamification project for any subject and level
- Foster intercultural exchanges between different cultures and countries
- Go deeper into how to give and receive feedback
- Engage in a process of self-reflection through open conversations and new cultural experiences
Methodology & assessment
The approach used is highly practical, based on the expertise of the course trainers who have different years’ experience. Practical simulations will be carried out for each topic.
The objective of the practical activities is the simulation of the use of robots and coding during lessons.
ASSESSMENT:
During the mobility, the participant is continuously monitored and mentored by ESMOVIA trainer. Through the completion of the different activities and tasks proposed by the trainer, the achievement of the different learning objectives will be assessed.
We will also evaluate the quality of the course provided with the use of a satisfaction questionnaire at the end of the course. We will use participants' feedback to improve.

Upon your arrival, you will receive a welcome kit with all the essential course materials and program information.
Throughout the course, you will have access to EsMobile app designed to support your mobility experience.
We will provide you with exclusive access to ESMOVIA cloud platform, where you can find: all presentations, training materials, resources used during the session as well as pictures and videos taken throughout the week.
Certification details
We will provide the participant with a certificate proving the attendance of the course.
Finally, Europass mobility will be issued to all participants. This document will describe all the skills acquired during this course.
