Netiquette is the social code of the internet, with the definition network and label. The etiquette of the Internet today is part of social norms, customs and culture. The Internet has its own culture, and its rules, netiquette, are represented by cultural norms for status updates, e-mail messages, privacy settings, and lists. The basic rules of netiquette are those applied daily on the Internet and are established to have effective communication with each other.
The golden rule of netiquette: treat others the way you want to be treated yourself. It represents the spirit of netiquette - that of being civilized.
