The Project
The main project aim is to create love for reading in Primary School students (12 – 13 years) thanks to Harry Potter world. While reading, children will have fun learning English. The idea of the project is to work on reading skills using English language We will develop different types of literate practices among our students: the knowledge, skills and strategies needed to respond to print, paper, digital, visual and oral communication. Students will be encouraged to read, write together. We will develop strategies for them to be able to read and study various types of material which contain new ideas and values, unfamiliar vocabulary; learn to react to the text through discussion, answering questions, writing; producing their own stories; learn collaboration, work together under each other supervision and be more receptive to their peers; help in order to develop a sense of inclusion; teach them open-mindedness, to learn about literature thanks to a classic , to communicate using different ICT tools and the Internet in a safe way.
Aims:
- learn English language: communication, listening, writing, reading, building rich vocabulary;
- understanding of text structures: books, comic book;
- guide and facilitate the creation of reading cultures;
- encourage reading for pleasure;
- improve ICT skills;
- encourage active learning – international group work;
- stimulate creativity: creating logo, pictures, sleeve face;
Work Process
We will work in international groups, working together on the book, comic book, logo. Students will interact with each other creating recordings, descriptions of fiction character. After starting a project teachers will meet online after first activities to check if everything goes right. Partners will also plan online meetings with students form partners countries.
All the partners are equal and they will work on the planning tasks together. Partners will work on TwinSpace.
Activities:
- Have students join a House. Create mixed teams.
- creating a logo for the House (competition: the voters are the school staff)
- student's presentation in the manner of a Harry Potter character.

- survey / final evaluation
Every time the House completes the challenge, points are given and a compettion is organized to award one House with a bonus. At the end of the year we award the winners with a ceremony.
