International Women's Day & Poetry Day

Created by Ivana Opačak
Last updated by Ivana Opačak 10 months 2 weeks ago

Let's create blackout poetry dedicated to strong women in Women's HistoryMonth (March) 2024!

Thus we will celebrate International Women's Day (March 8) & World Poetry Day (March 21) together.

Tasks for students:

1. Choose a woman you admire, a strong, impactful, successful woman. She doesn’t have to be a celebrity, she can be someone close to you, someone you consider a role model; she can be someone you remember, you learned about, a notable person from the past...

2. Write a short description/story of/about her (life). You can ask ChatGPT/Copilot to help you, BUT make sure you personalise AI-generated work, change something, adapt... (Say WHO she is, WHERE she lives/lived & WHEN, WHAT she does/did (well), WHAT makes her a role model, WHY you admire her. Maybe a quote...)

If you find it difficult to write, you can also use an article, BUT name the source of your text.

You can also use the text/piece of literature inspired by a female writer, or depicting a female character you admire

3. Add your text (with the title/woman's name) to the TwinBooard below.

4. Ask your teacher to print your text on a sheet of paper. Create a blackout poetry. (If you do not know how, follow the link HERE.)

5. Add an image of your blackout poem to the TwinBoard.

6. Use Suno AI & create a song based on your poem's lyrics.

7. Share your work on the TwinBoard below or in a collaborative Wakelet collectionHERE, please.

Optional: You can print out other students' work and create more blackout poems & AI-generated songs...
