Mafalda  and Rodrigo from 10th D, Agrupamento de Escolas de Sátão implemented their action on the 18th of May, during the last period of classes, starting at 16:15 and ending at 17:05. They held a lesson about gender Inequality in a 7th graders English class aimed at  raising students’ awareness towards the issue of Gender Inequality  and call their attention to this important situation and make them take action to promote more gender equality.

Read their report below and hear the way they feel about it  and the lessons learnt in the video below.

In the report below, you can access to the resources students (like this presentation) made for the session as well as the previous study they made to deepen their knowledge on the issue. Just click on the hyperlinks.

Scuola Secondaria di Primo Grado "Battisti-Ferraris" - Bisceglie - Italy

On the 23rd of May a group of students from class 3F  (Giacomo P., Giacomo M, Mauro C. Irene DO, Pierluigi P, Serena D.T.,Teresa DA, Pietro V) campaigned for gender equality  in a 7th grade class. At first they introduced some women who had supported gender equality, after they explained what gender equality is and gave some news about the situation in Italy. Besides the student presented some solutions and suggested what we can do every day to overcome gender inequality. Soon after, the T.A.S.K. group of students gave the girls some leaflets containing motivational sentences to improve their self- confidence and self-awareness. At the end of the session, the 7th graders played a kahoot to check what they had just learned about gender equality. The T.A.S.K group  also put up a poster for students to read every day the 5 simple actions all of us can do to overcome gender stereotypes.
