Mentoring through social business – Sindbad

Sindbad builds on strong interpersonal relationships. In its 1:1 mentoring programme, which lasts 8-12 months, young people from different backgrounds are brought together. Sindbad mentees are pupils of 14-19 years old from one of the 45 partner schools. The mentees from social hotspot schools are supported by a personal and reflected mentorship, which helps them in their search to further their schooling or professional education. Mentors are young professionals or students between 20 and 35 years old. They want to support a young person whilst training and improving their own social skills. Sindbad is financed by donations, public funding, and a business model which offers workshops for companies focusing on training apprentices and measures of personal development. Partner companies want to profit entrepreneurially while simultaneously assuming social responsibility.
