Description

Inclusive Storytelling: Diversity, Empathy & Emotional Intelligence is a professional development course designed to support educators in building inclusive, compassionate, and emotionally responsive learning environments. The course explores how diversity—across culture, language, ability, gender, and socioeconomic background—shapes the educational experience and offers practical strategies for fostering a sense of belonging for all students. Participants will engage with the core principles of empathy and emotional intelligence to enhance their communication, classroom management, and conflict resolution skills. Emphasis is placed storytelling,reflective teaching practices, inclusive language, and trauma-informed approaches that prioritize student well-being. By the end of the course, educators will be equipped with the tools to recognize individual differences, respond with sensitivity, and create emotionally safe, equitable spaces that promote academic and personal growth.

Methodology & assessment

The course Inclusive Storytelling: Diversity, Empathy & Emotional Intelligence employs a highly interactive, learner-centered methodology that combines theory with practice. Participants will engage in a variety of hands-on activities including group storytelling exercises, reflective journaling, role-playing scenarios, and case study analysis. These approaches are designed to encourage active participation, peer learning, and self-reflection. Workshops and discussions will be guided by experienced trainers who will create a safe and inclusive space for exploring complex themes related to identity, belonging, and emotional expression.
Digital tools and multimedia resources will also be integrated into the learning experience to demonstrate innovative storytelling formats, such as visual storytelling, digital narratives, photography and collaborative story-mapping. Participants will work both individually and in small groups to design and present inclusive storytelling projects .

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

The course uses storytelling templates, empathy maps, and inclusive dialogue guides, supported by AI tools ( Canva AI and more), AR apps (CoSpaces Edu, QuiverVision), and photography techniques for visual storytelling. Participants will explore story creation with digital tools, practice inclusive visuals, and receive a digital toolkit with ready-to-use resources, apps, and samples to support creative, inclusive learning beyond the course.

Certification details

Participants will receive a detailed Certificate of Attendance including their full name,names of the sender and host organisations, instructor name/names,course title, dates, total hour of instruction and location. The certificate will also feature a brief description highlighting the key topics covered during the course.

    The course package includes daily workshop handouts, tool guides, storyboarding templates, access to all presentation slides, and a resource library of storytelling samples and lesson ideas. Participants will also receive digital badges and a Certificate of Attendance featuring their name, course title, location, dates, and a short description of the course topic. These materials are designed to support continued practice and implementation after the course ends.
