
Getting better results when using AI for lesson planning and materials production
This course is aimed at teachers who are interested in using GenAI to assist them in providing alternative and/or supplementory materials to textbook units for pedagogical reasons.
Description
This intensive 6-day course empowers MFL teachers to critically evaluate and effectively use AI-powered tools for lesson planning and materials creation. Participants will learn to enhance textbook-based teaching to better meet learners’ needs and curriculum goals. Through hands-on activities, they will develop skills to analyse textbook content, align it with assessments, and design AI-supported learning scenarios for diverse contexts. The course also prepares teachers to act as local AI coaches within their schools.
Learning objectives
The objectives of this intensive 6-day course are to:
- promote teacher professionalism in evaluating and selecting available AI-empowered apps for lesson planning and materials production
- empower MFL teachers to enhance their textbook-based teaching to timely meet established learners’ needs and/or new curriculum requirements with the support of AI-powered tools for lesson planning and efficient materials production
- develop participants’ skills to analyse textbook units content and alignment to stated objectives and actual current classroom-based tests and assessments.
- develop participants’ skills in selecting content and implementing AI-supported materials & methodologies for a range of curriculum objectives and contexts in and beyond the classroom
- support practitioners to evaluate the impact of their innovative scenarios on student learning outcomes
- develop participants’ competences to function as local i-coach to support peers to implement AI-assisted lesson planning
Methodology & assessment
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Participants will be offered a virtual learning environment (VLE) to access the course materials, tools and resources which include daily overviews of course activity & task instructions, related task completion templates, polling, reflections and task results sharing tools and lists with (further) reading & viewing materials.
After-course access to the LMS is offered to promote follow-up communication and collaborative learning when exchanging (re)designed local practice.
Certification details
Personalised certificates will be made available for those participants who actively participated and successfully completed the various course activities including the final course task product. The certificate document includes the key course information including the number of tuition & learning hours and the main topics covered.
So requested individual EuroPass documents will also be updated.
