Linguistically Sensitive Teaching in All Classrooms (Listiac)

It remains difficult to change monolingually framed policies and practices in schools and teacher education. The Listiac project (Linguistically Sensitive Teaching in All Classrooms) aimed to assure that all students in Europe have equal conditions for educational success and well-being by mainstreaming multilingual pedagogies and reimagining the initial teacher education curriculum and in-service training.
The Listiac Toolkit for Reflection Tasks promotes reflection on a whole-school approach to linguistically sensitive teaching (LST). The reflection tools integrate all stages of teachers’ professional development. The reflections focus on both didactical classroom practices and on LST from a more holistic, whole-school approach.
In addition, the project produced a comprehensive report on LST, and language-sensitive teaching recommendations for policy makers, education providers and teachers.
