WEBSITE THAT TELLS A STORY: A PROJECT WEBSITE SETUP COURSE 7 DAYS IN ZAGREB

This course is aimed at teachers and and all those who want to improve their digital competences and learn how they can create a simple and functional free website for school projects or portfolio. Participants are expected to have at least B1 level of English proficiency and should be able to use the computer and internet but no need to know coding. Description

The course consists of 35 didactic hours and includes the following moduels:

  • Introduction of participants, outline of the programme, warm ups and ice breakers
  • Introduction to website setup and presentation of examples of good practice; creating an account
  • Setting up the pages of the website (blog, contacts, resources, calendar)
  • Adding and adjusting content (photos, presentations, videos)
  • Creating and embedding feedback forms
  • Recording and publishing screencasting tutorials
  • Advanced content management tools
  • Online tools for collaboration in educational and ICT based projects, eTwinning
  • Individual support
  • Cultural exchange
  • Teambuilding and networking activities with a city your or a cultural trip
  • Presentation of outcomes, discussion, evaluation and closing session

Learning objectives

  • Improving the participants’ digital competences, in particular the ability to set up a free website, create online forms, create, publish and share content.
  • Understanding of storytelling and narrative building as part of web design.
  • Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.
  • Improving digital skills in work with text, photography and video.
  • Boosting participants’ confidence in use of technology.
  • Enhancing professional skills through mastering tools for virtual communication and collaboration.
  • Providing and exercising creative ideas and practical resources for successful educational project website setup.
  • Improving English fluency (official language of the course).
  • Promoting intercultural awareness.
  • Sharing experiences of school project work and use of ICT in education from different organizations in order to help each of us to be more effective in our work.

Methodology & assessment

Methodology is based on theoretical input, presentations of examples of good practice as well as demonstrations and experience comparisons and in the most part practical work on website setup. Participants will have the opportunity to set up a free website and interlink several pages of a website which will include calendar, blog content, resources (such as photos, videos, presentations), feedback and contact forms, and maps. This will enable them to set up functional and free websites for their educational school projects. Another focus will be on engagement of visitors with the website and we will present examples and do practical work on setting up a website which will engage the visitor by telling a story. Assessment is carried out by the course trainer on a day to day basis and the learning outcomes are recorded on the Europass Mobility Document on request.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

All the materials will be made available to the participants in digital form upon completion of the course.

Certification details

Certificate complies with the guidelines of the Erasmus+ programme and includes the topic, number of didactic hours, dates and location of the course. We can list the record of learning outcomes on the Europass Mobility Document on request of participants. In case. aparticipant requires a speciffic format of certificate we can accommodation that if requested at least one week before the start of the course.

    The course fee includes tution and materials for the course. Accommodation, meals and transportation are not included and participants are expected to organize and cover for these expenses by themselves.
