Description

Creating a solid STEAM foundation through an integrated curriculum is the best way to ensure that students are exposed to science, technology, engineering, arts and maths throughout their educational career. It is also important for educators to have a skill set that allows them to inform students about STEAM career prospects, motivate them and support them.

The 5 days training course will focus on enriching the STEAM curriculum through innovative activities for students, available learning and teaching resources as well as enriching educator’s skills in engaging and motivating their students. The course will also explore the need to involve the local community and organisations.

More information and the daily programme can be found here.

Learning objectives

Specific objectives of the training are:

  • Improved knowledge about STEAM and innovations
  • Improved knowledge of various STEAM activities for students
  • Enhanced ability to find and use different teaching and learning resources
  • Enhanced ability to design STEAM curriculum and implement it in practice
  • Enhanced ability to work on the process of STEAM implementation
  • Improved ability to motivate and engage students in STEAM learning
  • Improved communication and social skills
  • Improved English language skills

Methodology & assessment

The methodology of the training course includes a learner-centred approach and a focus on enhancing continuous personal development. The aim of the training is not to produce ready-made solutions (passive learning), but to inspire the participants to search creatively for knowledge and effective solutions, which are connected to their needs and challenges (active learning). In this way, the participants take responsibility for their own learning process and act as active partners in the training.

Attention will be given to how to implement the findings and skills in real daily working situations after the training course. Methods such as debate, pair and group work, and individual practical exercises will be used throughout the course.

Assessment of the course combines formal and non-formal assessment methods such as self-evaluation at the end of the course and formal evaluation forms provided by the organisation.

Materials, digital tools & other learning resources

This course enhances STEM education through interactive materials, toolkits, and digital tools. Participants engage with case studies, scenario-based learning, and self-assessment tools to develop hands-on, project-based STEAM teaching methods. Practical resources support integrating technology, critical thinking, and real-world applications into STEAM lessons.
