Methodology & assessment

Course;s focus is at a preparation of methodology, manual and training for teachers in the conflict resolution and anger management of the students by the help of sports activities. Course content is displayed by training modules which present: how sports participation can improve a students’ cognitive, emotional and behavioral well-being as much as their physical fitness, how various sports activities can help to improve self-control and discipline and lower the feelings of aggression in the students overall; that using sports activities to control aggression is more effective than verbal therapy, because while verbal therapy encourages students to control their behavior, it does not reduce negative emotions, but the participation in sports activities, however, can diminish the negative emotions and give pupils a sense of purpose and positive attitude. The methodological approach also includes: Think‐Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS); Group Grid; Brainstorming; Group discussion; Group survey; Critical debates; Peer aggression/victimization questionnaire; Bullying survey; Define a Question to Investigate; Make observations and collect data; Make Predictions; Come up with a hypothesis; Gather Data; Analyze the Data; Draw Conclusions. Participants will apply Cooperative Learning methods and will work together in groups on a structured activity. They will be individually accountable for their work, and the work of the group as a whole will be also assessed. Cooperative groups will work face-to-face and learn to work as a team. In small groups participants will have a chance to share strengths and also to develop their weaker skills.
