This 5 day training course with study visits and workshops will guide you through innovations in education combined with getting to know Belgium and it’s system.

Description
During this exciting week in Belgium’s most beautiful city, Ghent,we’ll offer our participants an exciting week with a mix of cultural and pedagogical activities. Doing is learning: school visit(s), excursions to Bruges and Brussels, tastings, workshops and meeting opportunities.
Our trainers are also official teachers in the Belgian education system: they will share their experience, knowledge & tips, help you with questions and future projects.
Included in the Course Fee (440 euros/5 days, + 60 euros for an optional sixth day):
-Admission fees.
-Coffee, water, chocolate, and beer tasting.
-Transportation by train from Ghent to Bruges and Brussels.
Daily Timetable: Daily sessions, approximately 5 hours each.
DAY 1: MEETING THE TEAM
Welcome, energizers and ice-breaking, meeting, what to expect,.
History of Belgium + Belgian/Flemish school system;
Gent (using tools like etwinning) BIB / GUM
DAY 2: SCHOOL VISIT + WORKSHOPS
Visit to a very interesting school near Ghent: looking for both historical and modern educational architecture, interiors, lessons and tools.
Practicing STEM using LEGO Mindstorms Robots. Hands-on approach with to 4C’s
Visit to a brewery (Brewery Huyghe, Delirium: tasting included)
DAY 3: BRUGES
How to bring your own course to a historical city (visit Bruges):
Storytelling, non-formal education & implementing your own curriculum into a historic visit
DAY 4: WORKSHOPS
Apps, tools & different forms of teaching.
Using Bookwidgets, Europeana+
Teaching trough art.
DAY 5: EVALUATION + BRUSSELS
Visit the EU corner in Brussels. Brussels city visit. Evaluation and diploma awarding.
Optional: Day 6 - excusion to Antwerp
