Description
This 5 (or 6 day course upon availability) is for teachers or school staff who are interested in using more digital sources and apps and who are absolute beginners in using robotics. Participants will also have the opportunity to get in touch with different learning tools and strategies while visiting Northern Europe’s most vivid and beautiful cities: Ghent, Bruges, Brussels & Antwerp.
In workshops they will learn about the hands-on approach using LEGO and LEGO robots (Lego Mindstorms), active city, brewery and museum visits, making the real Belgian chocolates and tasting Belgian finest beers.
Admission prices, coffee and water, chocolate, beer tasting and transportation by train from Ghent to Bruges and Brussels are all included! The fee for our course is 440 euro.

Daily timetable: The daily sessions have an average length of 5 hours.
DAY 1: Ghent
- Welcome, energizers, meeting, what to expect.
- History of Belgium + Belgian/Flemish school system;
- Tools & apps for the classroom
DAY 2: School visit & Ghent: chocolate & beer
- School Visit
- Workshops: Practicing STEM using lego mindstorms. Hands-on approach with to 4C’s
- Workshop: How chocolate found its way into the classroom: Learn to make real Belgian “pralines”.
- Workshop: How Belgian beer found its way into the classroom: Visit to a brewery (Brewery Huyghe, Delirium: tasting included)
DAY 3: Romantic Bruges
- Storytelling, non-formal education & implementing your own curriculum into a historic visit using digital tools.
- STEM-activity in a medieval city
Day 4: LEGO MINDSTORMS
Explore more robotics and exercises using LEGO MINDSTORMS.
Day 5: Brussels
Visit the EU corner in Brussels. Brussels city tour. Evaluation.
