This program is designed for participants to be able to adapt and implement mindfulness skills and strategies in a variety of school settings. There is a wealth of scientific research on the benefits of mindfulness in education. It also offers teachers an opportunity to grow personally by supporting their own well-being. The seminar follows two well researched and engaging skills based programs.

This program is designed for participants to be able to adapt and implement mindfulness skills and strategies in a variety of school settings. There is a wealth of scientific research on the benefits of mindfulness in education. It also offers teachers an opportunity to grow personally by supporting their own well-being. The seminar follows two well researched and engaging skills based programs from the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation* called Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World and Dr. Christopher Willard’s Growing Up Mindful.
Participants will explore through experiential learning and conceptual understanding (neuroscience) what Mindfulness is and how to use different practices in lessons effectively that supports the overall wellbeing of students and improves concentration and focus. The participants will also learn skills on how to maintain their own regular personal practice to manage stress and teacher burnoutand improve efficiency.
Learning objectives
1. Supports Well-Being: It has shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels. And we learn how to manage challenges more effectively so that we can flourish in life.
2. Improved Focus and attention: The practices help students develop better concentration and attention skills. This enhances their overall academic performance.
3. Emotional Regulation: It helps us to become more aware of our emotions and reactions to them. Through better self-regulation and self-awareness we learn how to handle challenging moments more skillfuly with better ability to engage in tasks.
4. Improved Social Skills: When students learn to cultivate attitudes such as kindness, compassion, gratitude and empathy it leads to a greater understanding of the perspective of others and nutures tolerance.
5. Better classroom climate: Teachers and students may experience improved communication skills and a more positive and cooperative learning environment.
Methodology & assessment
They will also learn tools and practices based on social emotional learning (SEL) to enhance and support the wellbeing of their students and foster a more mindful classroom.
Materials, digital tools & other learning resources
Prerequisites are an interest in intercultural exchanges, a sense of curiosity and openness about Mindfulness, basic knowledge of using digital media and the willingness to work in groups in a practice-oriented manner.
This seminar aims to empower schools with practical strategies and experiential learning to navigate and thrive in the face of adversity. We will also explore practices to enhance our overall well-being so that we can flourish in life, manage our stress, adapt to life’s challenges and foster a healthy work life balance.
Through engaging discussions, practices, skills based learning and conceptual understanding participants will learn to develop their inner strengths and cultivate self-care practices that support their well-being as they embark on a journey towards greater resilience and living a more fulfilling life.
Participants will explore science backed strategies and techniques such as building inner strengths like awareness and compassion, mindful communication, managing emotional regulation, optimism, fostering positive coping mechanisms, positive mindset and connection with body-based practices like movement and laughter.
They will also learn tools and practices based on social emotional learning (SEL) to enhance and support the wellbeing of their students and foster a more resilient classroom.
Individual consultations and an extensive accompanying and cultural program to culturally significant places in the Algarve complete the seminar week.
Certification details
The seminar lasts 30 seminar hours and consists of theoretical and practical units, as well as a constant exchange of specialist knowledge. In addition to plenary sessions, discussions in small groups and joint workshops, individual working groups will develop and present their own projects. You will also have plenty of free time outside of the seminar program to enjoy the benefits of the Algarve.
The seminar follows two well researched and engaging skills based programs from the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation* called Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World and Dr. Christopher Willard’s Growing Up Mindful.
At the end of the event, you will receive an ERASMUS certificate confirming your participation in the seminar as well as an official Oxford certificate of completion for M-FP.
The seminar language is English, but the trainer speaks also German and is sensitive to any potential low level of participant’s English language skills. Please note that our seminar is inclusive.

As part of our concept, seminar participants are always accommodated together in a four-star hotel and can also exchange ideas outside the official program during meals and coffee breaks. The seminar will take place at the 4-star Hotel AGUA RIVERSIDE LAGOA Quinta Do Parchal (Algarve) in Portugal (subject to change). The course fees are 580€, the cost for the stay in a single room with full board is 896€, 700€ in a double room. The costs include all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinners, coffee breaks, entrance fees and cultural excursions. The total cost is usually fully subsidized by the EU.
