During this course, participants will explore the most important and fundamental concepts of the CLIL approach.

 

Daily programme 

 

Day 1

Welcoming and introductions 
Individual orientation and information about the venue and the city
Individual expectations, setting goals for the week
Team building activities
Individual expectations, setting goals for the week
What is CLIL/ the 4 C’s / history of CLIL
Different CLIL approaches
Good examples

 

Day 2

Session of questions and answers concerning the content discussed during day 1
Benefits and risks of CLIL
Cross- curricular teaching- how to start
Intercultural awareness in CLIL lessons
Integration of 4 C’s in the CLIL project
Content- developing subject- centred language

Dinner in a typical French restaurant

 

Day 3

Session of questions and answers

From CLIL to TIL
Communication- practicing subject language in both oral and written form
Cognition- cognitive skills that challenge learners
Culture- understanding ourselves and other cultures
Evaluation in CLIL lessons

Cultural activities in Chantilly and traditional whipped cream savouring

 

Day 4

CLIL lesson planning
Exploring materials for CLIL lessons
Adapting materials and textbooks to CLIL lessons
Hand-on ideas and activities
Project work- creating a CLIL lesson

 

Day 5

Presentation of project works
Space for discussion of future cooperation and planning follow up activities
Course roundup and final evaluation
Validation of learning outcomes and certification ceremony
Participants departure
Guided cultural visit to Paris (optional)

Presented programme is just an overview of what you can expect.

Once we complete a group of participants of each session we adjust the programme to the group, participants' experience and expectations.

Learning objectives

During this course, participants will explore the most important and fundamental concepts of the CLIL approach by:

- discovering the history of CLIL and the four pillars on which it is based.

- considering the principles of effective practice of this approach.

- analysing the benefits and risks of the CLIL approach for our students.

- discussing how to implement efficiently CLIL in your school.

- measuring the impact of intercultural awareness in CLIL lessons.

- learning how to collaborate with their colleagues to plan and set up the perfect CLIL lesson.

- exchanging good practices and sharing experiences about CLIL with teachers and education staff from all over Europe.

- comparing CLIL and TIL approaches

- knowing how to make their lessons multilingual

Methodology & assessment

This course is based on participants’ needs and interests related to their areas of teaching and professional development. Designed specifically to ensure interactivity through input sessions, group project and collaborative work, the course will allow participants to be actively involved at each stage of the training.
Led by professionals of education with a real experience of teaching, the course will take the form of hands-on workshops with exchanges of practices, brainstorming, analysis and real case scenario examples, participants will reflect on the tools and strategies that will make an impact in their daily practice. A great emphasis will be therefore put on collaboration and interaction between participants to create relevant resources and projects that each of them will be able to take back to school.

Certification details

 

Each participant will be granted a Certificate of Attendance as well as Certificate of Obtained Competences.  

If requested - a Europass Mobility Certificate will be issued. 

Our courses are created and conducted accordingly to Quality Standards for courses under Key Action 1

We provide participants with help in completing Learning Agreements, as well as any documents necessary for their organisations.

    Transportation

    Transport between one of the Paris airports (Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Paris Beauvais) and the hotel can be organised. Fees will vary according to the number of people and the location of the airport. 

     

    Accommodation

    Accommodation can be organized according to your budget and specific requirements. Once the subscription form with all the information is completed, we will provide you with a list of hotels which meet your requirements. 

     

    Cultural visits 

    Cultural visits of Senlis and Paris are included in the training programme. This programme can be changed to meet your expectations.
