KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS PLAY TO LEARN MORE, ICELAND. Teach early concepts through play, multisensory games, yoga and storytelling in a fun effective way
Play to Learn More (PTLM) is an Early Years Icelandic teaching approach inspired by movement, calming and yoga activities. It encourages multi-modal learning through free play and structured games.
· Designed by teachers for teachers.
· Activities tried, tested and approved by children.
· Methodology renowned by teachers internationally.
· Innovative, effective and easy to apply.
Description
Recent research shows that young children move a lot less and have fewer quality social interactions. This is having a negative impact on their social skills, physical and mental health.
- Using the PTLM approach has proven to increase both students’ and teachers’ well-being. As a holistic approach, it enables children to work on cognitive, physical and social competences simultaneously. The wide range of physical and sensory activities you will experience on the course will give you valuable tools to meet your childrens’ different needs while learning early concepts and routines in the classroom.
- PTLM methodology can be used as your main teaching approach or it can be used to compliment other teaching methodology.
- The sessions on this course are highly practical and teachers experience the activities first-hand. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the sessions and adapt activities to suit their specific settings.

- To explore how we can teach personal, social and communication skills alongside academic skills.
- To give first-hand experience and the tools to promote health and well-being for children and teachers.
