Description

Good leadership in schools is crucial for improving students’ learning outcomes. School leaders should collaborate with staff to identify their personal development needs, skills, and knowledge gaps. This helps create a culture of empowerment, self-directed learning, and responsibility. Leading by example can show staff how to improve their teaching capacity. Effective leadership fosters school-wide teaching expertise, driving strong progress for all learners. Leadership can come from principals, executive staff, or even teachers without formal leadership roles. For teaching staff and future leaders, it’s essential to understand the benchmarks of good leadership in schools and how it can lead to lasting, sustainable change.
