Recommendations based on students' feedback

Based on the students' post-project feedback, the partners made conclusions and recommendations for future project collaboration.

Title
Pdf results of the students' post-project evaluation survey (as of August 7, 2024 - 31 students completed the survey)

SUMMARY OF STUDENTS' EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

  • *since severaly NSO when evaluating the project mentioned we were missing the recommendations based on both student and teacher evaluation, and we do have them (for the students it is located in the Twinboard above), we are posting it here as well, hoping it would not go unnoticed next time*

- Majority of students participated in 3 or more activities
- Activities that students enjoyed the most are: exploring about the beauties of their own local community and learning about other countries’, interviewing people from their local community and communicating with their partners from other countries
- The majority of students believe that they improved their creative, digital, and teamwork skills through the project
- 97% of surveyed students believe that the project positively influenced their understanding and commitment to sustainability
- They consider the sustainability-related tasks and activities in the project highly, very, or moderately engaging.
- However, the majority of students believe the communication tools (Twinspace, Tricider, Padlet) used in the project weren’t sufficiently effective – the same thing was concluded by us the partners. Communication was the only weakness of our project because Twinspace is very inefficient for communication (it doesn’t send a notification to your email once someone replies to your message/post; there is no instant messaging option; it often crashes), and Tricider and Padlet aren’t ideal alternatives either because they don’t offer the instant messaging option either, nor does it send a notification when someone replies to a message/post.
- The students believe their mentors were very motivated for the project and gave them sufficient support.
- All students say that the project had a positive impact on their awareness on environmental issues, which is an amazing achievement.
- The majority of students are either highly likely or likely to implement sustainable practices learned in the project in their daily life, which is something we are very proud of.
- 97% of students believe that an individual can contribute to sustainability in their local community, which is more than amazing because it was one of our most important aims of the project.
- Most students say that they had enough time for the project activities and ALL students say that they would recommend eTwinning projects to their friends, while 90% of them would join an eTwinning project the following year.

RECOMMENDATION – based on the students’ feedback and our own observations during the project, we the partners have concluded that our biggest weakness were the communication tools used, primarily Twinspace (for above-mentioned reasons), which hinder communication between students from different countries and even time zones. We will definitely research other available communication tools for students, but the suggestion from a lot of students was to use Instagram and create a special chat group for the project and that each student creates a new profile there just for the project, does not post any photos, but uses an avatar as a profile picture and that that profile is used just for project communication. Ofcourse, Twinspace and Padlet would still be used for task distribution and upload of materials, as well as for visibility.
