Today is the second-to-last day in Germany before returning to Spain. In the morning, we went to school as usual. The last few hours of school were canceled (something that happens often), so we were able to go home early, although Jimena and I, the other Spanish girl, preferred to go to the gym. In the afternoon, we had two hours at the bowling alley booked with our families. We played and were surprised to find that bowling was apparently very common here, and everyone was really good at it. We also had dinner there together and talked. It was really fun and great.

Today we decided to do some hiking with some friends, so we got up early, had breakfast, and drove two hours to the location. We visited one of Germany's most beautiful natural sites, specifically the Eibsee lake. I thought it was a beautiful place, and today was a very sunny day. We walked around the lake for about seven kilometers. Along the way, we paused to admire the wonderful views, including the highest peak in Germany, called Zugspitze, which lies on the border with Austria. The lake's waters were crystal-clear and there were many ducks, which we fed. Afterward, we went to eat at a restaurant with incredible views of the lake. It was a great day, and this was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, you could see the crystal clear waters of the lake with the snow-capped mountains in the background, it was very nice.

We went to the Dachau concentration camp. We went again with the students from Murcia. Before arriving, they explained to us that it's no longer called a concentration camp, but a place of historical remembrance. Also, since it's a place where many people suffered and died, we had to show the utmost respect. We had an English-speaking guide who told us all about the history and important facts. I found it very sad but very interesting, although the place was chilling and gave off bad vibes. It was quite surprising how well-preserved everything was. I learned a lot about history, and I understood how the people who were there felt and what their lives were like from the moment they began the process of being held.

Today we went on a field trip to Neuschwastein Castle. We went with a group of kids our age who were on an exchange program from Murcia, and their German counterparts were also there. We took the bus from school to the castle. We just arrived at the castle when it started snowing heavily, and we had to walk along the mountain path for half an hour to reach the castle. The castle seemed more beautiful to me, honestly. It wasn't as incredible as the photos, but it was still good. Also, after seeing the castle inside with an English-speaking guide, they let us spend an hour in the town to eat and walk around. I had a good time because we were with the students from Murcia who were very nice, so in the end it was fun.

Today was the last day of our ski vacation. We got up around 9 a.m. and had breakfast at the hotel. Since we already had our bags and everything ready, we took everything straight to the car and began the return trip. Although we didn't return directly, we first went to a small town in Italy. We took a walk through the central part of the city and the old town. It was beautiful and the weather was very nice. We also went shopping. We ate at a street restaurant. It's interesting because Germans love to eat food from all over the world, and it's very common. In the area of Italy where I was, there were a lot of Germans and Latinos, so there were a lot of things in Spanish and German. After the visit to the city, we went straight to the house. It was a long trip, but my host family is super nice and friendly, so the trip was enjoyable. We also played music in German, English, and Spanish. They started singing and things like that, and it was a lot of fun.

We had a ten-day vacation. I went to Italy with my family and two other families who are friends. They told me they took this vacation every year, they call it a ski vacation. We went every morning and afternoon to ski in the Italian Alps. I didn't know how to ski, since I'd never done it before and I was a little scared, but I went to classes the first five days and learned a lot. According to my host father, I'm now a professional skier. We ate every day at different restaurants in the mountains where we skied. Italian food is wonderful. A while ago, our classmates invited us to a birthday party. They invited two other Spanish girls and me. A month in advance, they asked us if we wanted to go and if we had that day off. After a while, they gave us personalized invitations with the dress code and other necessary information. Today was the party, and it was really cool and very different from the parties in Spain. When we arrived, like in all the houses here, we had to take off our shoes and put the gifts on a table. The party was in a house that was incredibly well decorated according to the theme: a New York disco party. There was also a bar with all kinds of savory food to dine on, and another bar with sweets and drinks.
