A normal person mayencounter and need mathematical skills at any time in their daily life.Many subjects such as counting, reading time, paying for shopping,weighing and measuring, understanding simple graphs and diagrams,and performing arithmetic operations are among the basic concepts ofMathematics. Prof. Dr. Mehmet BEKDEMİR, in his article titled ''TheNature of Mathematics and Its Place in Education'', said, ''Withoutmathematical literacy, it is not possible to be a member of a developeddemocratic society neither today nor tomorrow.
