Successful reallocation
Looking back is going forward.
Post a photo of the reallocation you saw during your week in Kraków or Tielt that you find the best example of reallocation. Give a little bit explanation about the place and why you find it so good.

As title you mention your name and the place.
Louise Steyaert_ Transfo Zwevegem
Transfo Zwevegem is a very unique site that has been given multiple new functions. For example, the site now hosts escape rooms, big party rooms, an outside laser shooting area, a diving tank and so on. It is a very interactive site that atracts alot of people. In my eyes the project is a succes as it uses every single part of the original construction for modern activities.
Saar Keymeulen: Wieliczka Salt Mine
It is an industrial site that turned into a center of cultural heritage and tourism. I believe it's a special place because of its authenticity and the fact that the features of the past were kept preserved.
Zwevegem Electric Power Plan Musuem_Katarzyna Majcher
Exploring the Zwevegem Electric Power Plant Museum was a captivating journey through the region's industrial past. From interactive displays to informative guides, it provided a fascinating insight into the plant's role in powering communities and its historical significance.
Bachelor digital design&development building in Kortrijk_Gabriela Pyka
Bachelor digital design&development building in Kortrijk impressed me the most for its new educational value that was given to a run down building instead of demolishing it. I like that they have kept the industrial design that goes well with the school theme.
Hangar K in Kortrijk_Karolina Ledkiewicz
Hangar K in Kortrijk is great example of repurposing abandoned building into communal activity space. You have multiple options of leisure activities which you can adjust to your preferences. It is the best way to bring people together and create local community with similar hobbies.
Texture Museum of Flax and River Lys_Natasza Wieczork
Texture Museum of Flax and River Lys is a great example of repurposing a building with great and very long history. It was constructed by a Linen Company, but then claimed by the Germans as a pigeon prison during the World War I. Now it’s a museum where we can learn all about the flax and linen economy of the River Leie otherwise once known as the Golden River for its claimed unique properties in treating flax and the prosperity and wealth creation it provided to those in flax. This repurpose sh
The Transfo Duiktank_sara Piszczek
The Transfo Duiktank in Belgium is a great example of successful reallocation by repurposing a defunct industrial site, originally a power plant, into a dynamic diving center. This transformation not only breathes new life into the area economically but also provides a novel recreational venue. Duiktank demonstrates the potential for revitalizing communities while preserving their industrial heritage.
Schindler's Factory_Wiktoria Strużycka
Schindler's factory in Cracow serves as a powerful example of reallocation due to its remarkable transformation during World War II. Initially used by Oskar Schindler to produce goods for the Nazi war machine, employing Jewish workers from nearby concentration camps, the factory later evolved into a place of refuge and salvation. Schindler's gradual shift in purpose, using his influence to protect his Jewish workers from deportation and certain death, exemplifies the concept of reallocation.
Transfo powerplant in Kortrijk_Zuzanna Kaczor
I believe the Transfo powerplant based in Kortrijk, to be a great example of reallocation. As we walked around the location, we could see both the big and the subtle changes, introduced to create a suitable place for the tourists. From an energy factory, rather not pleasing aesthetically and even dangerous when carelessly navigated, the place transformed into a fun place to spend time in. 10:54 Malwina Malwina Teodorowicz-Wilga I believe "Plong" escape room to be a great example of reallocation.
"Plong" escape room_Malwina Teodorowicz-Wilga
I believe "Plong" escape room to be a great example of reallocation. We experienced unique escape games at the Transfo site, the old power station of Zwevegem. PLONG offers two very interesting and educational escape rooms in the old workhouse of the electricians. We could learn how to solve riddles while learning about history of an important industrial destination.
Budatoren Kortrijk - Eline Byttebier
The old Tack brewery tower was transformed into a production house for performing arts. The tower has since developed to become one of the largest workspaces in Flanders for contemporary performance art.By packing part of it in glass, the character of the tower has been saved, but you can still see the old part. The Buda Tower has six studios for theatre and dance. I think this is a great form of repurposing because the building is now used for creative purposes.
Hanne Dekie: De Kien
This building was a factory and used to spin flax. Flax spinning was one of the most important economic activities in the 1960s. Flax was used as a source of food, clothing, oil and building materials. Now there are lofts and offices in the place of the factory. I think they repurposed the building good because parts of the old building still remain but the inside of the building has changed completely. They left the front of the building authentic with the building's name on it.
HEVRE, bar & restaurant - Esmee Paul
In Kraków's Jewish district of Kazimierz, you'll find this café. Once a Jewish place of worship, Hevre is now a trendy café. It is a place where people can meet. The building has been kept almost entirely in its original state and beautifully decorated. It really is a building with a story behind it. This was a super cosy and nice place to have a drink and a meal.
Tranzit

Tranzit was in the past an old train station that has now transformed into an active youth centre. Nowadays it has a communal space, hosts party's, has a skatepark, does workshops for youth like for gaming and graffiti and more. It is very important because it brings people, especially youth together, and lets them be creative.

Nathan Vandenbroucke

HEVRE bar is an old synagogue, converted to a restaurant. The owners have repurposed this building into a beautiful, antique place, yet it still remains trendy and popular. I especially love how they kept the vintage atmosphere alive.
