Our aim is to create a school partnership between the Naas Community College (NCC) in Ireland/county Kildare (NCC) and the Luisenschule in Germany/state North Rhine-Westphalia. We want to enable our students to get to know about participation and democracy at school and within municipality in both countries. In addition to that it is our aim to use the opposing national language in order to get the language to work. In our view it is essential to use the language in real-life situations. The application of language must be filled with meaning and should motivate intrinsically. Only in that case the foundation stone for lifelong language learning and multilingual competence can be laid. We are convinced of the fact that a project like this can reach all the above mentioned aims.
