Pomegranate Europe

Our project deals with responsible & active citizenship, social inclusion, human rights awareness and cultural heritage. It aims to ensure that the people who fleeing war (Syrian, Afghan, etc.) are understood by the local people, to increase the desire for social communication and to decrease the cultural and social distance. Our goal is to reduce prejudice among our students towards refugees and to prevent social alienation and xenophobia. There are three schools in this project. Greece, Turkey and Sweden. All schools has in some ways been affected by the refugee crisis that took place in 2010 and its aftermath. It has led to difficulty in communication between native students and refugees and in the end alienation and xenophobia. This is something we as schools want to counteract with this project by giving our students and teachers the opportunity to interact with each other and refugees.
